PVCC student Travis Duprey has won first place in the short story category of the League for Innovation in the Community College’s 2011-2012 Student Literary Competition hosted by Santa Fe College. Duprey’s short story was titled ”Falling Out of Love with Poetry.”
The Student Literary Competition enables community college students to compete with their peers across North America and provides a means to showcase a selection of the best works being created by today’s community college students. The Maricopa Community Colleges were well represented in the competition with MCC students winning first place in poetry and Honorable Mention in essay.
Students could enter their work into one of four categories: Essays, Poetry, Short Stories and One-Act Plays. A total of 56 literary works from students attending League board colleges across the country were entered in the competition.
