“
Sexuality and Sexual Orientation: What Does That Mean?”
PVCC employees and students are invited to join the Male Empowerment Network’s thought-provoking panel discussion based on the book “College Men and Masculinities” by Shaun Harper and Frank Harris III. The discussion is from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Center for Performing Arts at Paradise Valley Community College.
University academics Harper and Harris, experts in the field of men and masculinities, compiled the best research on male students in higher education for their book on topics of race, class, gender, sexuality and sexual orientation, men of color, sports and destructive behaviors. The book includes contributions from leading scholars in education, sociology, psychology and other disciplines and offers forward-thinking strategies for faculty and staff to help reverse problematic trends and outcomes among male undergraduates.
Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Cranston Forte, M.E.N. program coordinator, at 602-787-7724.
