Puma women head to soccer finals for a shot at nationals

The No. 1-ranked Paradise Valley Community College Women’s Soccer team bested fourth-seeded Phoenix College 3-2 on Wednesday, Oct. 24, during the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 1 semifinals.

Helping them advance to the finals and a bid for the NJCAA National Championship was Puma forward Ali Doller of Tempe, the region’s leading scorer, who shot her 27th goal for the year and had two assists.

The Puma women will take their shot at a trip to nationals against #2 ranked Scottsdale Community College, which outscored Pima Community College 4-2 Wednesday in the semifinals.

The Region 1 championship game takes place on Puma grounds 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at PVCC’s Shoenhair Field, 18401 N. 32nd St., Phoenix.
