Dec. 6 reception honors Lois Roma-Deeley, Professor of the Year

A reception honoring Dr. Lois Roma-Deeley, national Community College Professor of the Year, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 in the Warren Buxton Library on the Union Hills Campus. A program and video will begin at 1:30 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.

Dr. Roma-Deeley was nominated for this prestigious award by Counseling Faculty Dr. Marianne Roccaforte and student Carolyn Szatkowski and was selected by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She is one of the four Professors of the Year chosen from distinguished teachers nationwide in the categories of community college; baccalaureate college; doctoral and research university; and master’s university/college. She was presented with her award in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 15, at the National Press Club.
