PVCC President Paul Dale: What’s on My Mind

This weekend, January 25-27, the 4th Annual Desperado LGBT Film Festival continues. I had the opportunity to attend opening night on Saturday – the film, Call Me Kuchu, was excellent. The Festival is hosted by Paradise Valley Community College. Detailed information about the films and event lineup can be found at the PVCC Points of Pride blog and Desperado Film Festival website.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion calls for all of us to learn more about the varied cultures and communities that we serve. This commitment also challenges us to be knowledgeable about current events, social trends, and the civil discourse that impacts our students and the greater Phoenix service area. The Desperado Film Festival serves as an opportunity to better understand the lenses through which our LGBT students learn and view the world.

It’s going to be an entertaining and enlightening festival of film, music and director Q&A sessions. I encourage you to attend one or more films and look forward to seeing you there.
